Norwegian Log Building on round log/ Норвежская рубка на круглом бревне

International carpenters school Taiga released a Norwegian Log Building DVDs. Оne disk is the George Fuller lessons of the Norwegian Log Building on round log.
Международная школа плотников Тайга выпустила DVD пособия в чиcле которых один диск с уроками Джоржа Фуллера по теме "Норвежская рубка на круглом бревне".

The DVD includes the following lessons total duration of about 4 hours:
    * The selection and installation of flush logs with counting and cutting of the upper cup
    * Installation, marking and cutting the bottom cup of the 2 nd timber
    * Layout and cutting of the upper cup of the 2 nd logs, installation, additives and cutting the bottom cup 3rd logs
    * Layout and cutting of the upper cup 3rd logs, installation, additives and cutting cups 4-th beam

1.Preface.
This Standard has been produced by the Norwegian Log Home Builders Association, in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute for Wood Technology. The standard is primarily a result of expertise and knowledge contributed by association members and other log building specialists. Taking into consideration local variations and practice betweencompanies, the standard aspires to be flexible enough to accommodate several solutions.
The standard can be used for new construction and restoration work. On listed structures, expect additional demands.

Chains for the roof // Цепи на крышах

In many Norwegian homes, we can see the chains connecting the ground and the roof edge. I would like to know their purpose.

Company "House of Logs" the logo you see in the picture (I had already seen somewhere, but in green color) place the Norwegian Log Building standard on its website.

You probably will smile but this company was founded with the support of George Fuller.

I am very pleased that George Fuller accepted the invitation to participate in this blog.
Now blog can be much more useful.
The blilliant teacher and experienced carpenter can help many many students. Of course the best of all is go to  Lilihammer Norwegian School of Log Building , but sometimes it can be difficult to do.

Превосходный учитель и опытнейший плотник может  помочь очень многим новичкам. Конечно лучше всего съездить в Лилихаммер в Norwegian School of Log Building, но иногда это бывает трудно сделать.

Russian Log House with sod roof / Русская изба с травяной крышей

The cabin is made of timber in Russian traditional style by the Russian carpenter Yuri Khodij in 2005. It is 23 square meter, has a small entrance/kitchen, a sleeping room for two persons and a living room. 

Изба расположена на острове Спилдра, во фьорде Квэнанген в губернии Тромс. Срублена в 2005 году из кругляка русским мастером Юрием Ходием. При постройке использованы дёрн, камень, береста и брёвна.Общая площадь её 23 кв.м.
